Week 4- Color Presentation
Sherwin Williams
Paint + Pigment
This presentation was very interesting and went into depth about what we covered last week.
We talked about hue, tone, shade, etc.. There were many new terms and concepts that we explored in the slide show. Metamerism is the phenomenon that occurs when color changes under different light sources. We also talked about Light Reflective Value or LRV and Refraction which is when light is refracted differently depending on the surface texture of an object, causing different impressions.
After this we talked about colors and the emotion they invoke, as well as the way they are used in a space. This led into the concept of pigments. We answered questions as a class, such as, what color is the most dynamic and learned that red is the answer. We continued to discuss Durability (restability of paint), Fade Resistance, Glass vs Sheen, Surface Finish Categories, Colorants, Washable Flat Finish, Interior Water Based Acrylic Enamel, and Primers.
Lastly, we submitted the visual wallpaper assignment. This was very fun to do and I am super happy with the result. It is amazing to see the line weight and the value of the dense areas compared to the less dense areas.
